The huge steel stern roller was now redundant and though the roller itself was in good condition the housings were badly corroded as you can see from the photo’s.
I removed the roller and housings with an angle grinder then cleaned up the steel top rail in readiness for the fitting of the new mooring bollards.
When these were welded in place I undercoated them and the top rail then finished with two topcoats of blue paint.
Job done!
